Industrias Alegre, nominated for the Advanced Manufacturing Awards in the category of disruptive projects
Starting up a production project as complex as this one has meant for our company to take on several challenges. But it has also made us finalists in such prestigious national awards as the Advanced Manufacturing Awards, which recognize the most disruptive companies in the production process.
Manufacturing these battery modules has been a major challenge, even for a company like ours, which has enormous experience in injection molding. Because we are talking about a process whose main technology is injection molding with over-injection of metal inserts. So far, so usual. What is not so common now is to consider manufacturing on a vertical machine with a large tonnage (1700T) and to combine this work with ultrasonic welding and exhaustive quality control with vision cameras.
Adding challenges. Multiplying production
More challenges? Yes, there are even more: because the project involves ensuring that all production is of outstanding quality so that our customer can ensure the reliability of its batteries; without clean and always perfect production, an electric arc risk could be generated in these elements.
The last issue that had to be addressed was not a minor one, because we had to achieve sufficient production capacity to meet our customer's demand.
An award proposed by the Spanish industrial fabric
This sum of challenges is what has been valued by the organization of the Advanced Manufacturing Awards to incorporate our company to the list of finalists for the 2024 edition in the category of disruptive projects. While waiting for the jury (part professional and part popular) to make a decision at the end of November, at I.Alegre we are excited because we are talking about awards that are born from the Spanish industrial fabric itself and that aim to recognize those who create solutions capable of improving the value chain of a company, "making them more efficient, more sustainable and connected".
