Combining innovative materials and our know-how in injection, in I Alegre we have put on the market a new process with which the parts coming out of the injection molding machine are ready for assembly. Without paints. Without having to go through pre-production processes.
We are talking, for the moment, about finishes with a metallic appearance and high gloss options that are achieved using special raw materials and molds that are also different from the usual ones. And, of course, adding our extensive experience with these types of materials.
The advantages of the process, in figures
In the two cases we have already put on the market, the benefits of our innovation are measured by more than eloquent figures:
- The resulting price is between 20 and 25% lower than painted parts
- In terms of carbon footprint, we are talking about reductions of up to 35%.
Now, the metallic effect is already being applied to the Door Claddings of the Kuga, a particularly complex part due to the morphology of its rear.
