Sustainability as a path
Last March, our colleague Patricia Domínguez, Director of Corporate Quality and Sustainability, participated in a round table organized by the Alcatí Business Sports Club of Economía 3.
The proposal of Economía 3 was aimed at discussing and deepening on the value of sustainability in sectors as different as industry, public administrations, energy and infrastructures.
“It was a very interesting event precisely because of the variety of people gathered. The idea of bringing together participants from such different sectors helps to understand very well how sustainability is integrated into different economic fields,” says our expert. She also says that it was very enriching to learn from the participants how the different areas of their organizations have been affected by the need to apply increasingly stringent sustainability criteria.
A pressure that is felt in all organizations
In this regard, Domínguez comments: “we all explained the difficulties we had encountered at times in order to meet the expectations of society, the administration and customers”. When it came to explaining the difficulties in the industrial environment in which Industrias Alegre operates, she was able to share the situation, which translates into considerable pressure from customers “who are proactively and intensely requesting that we explain all our policies with respect to sustainability”.
In short, the day was a valuable exchange of real experiences which, in addition, had the advantage of being held in a particularly beautiful setting “and very much in line with preserving local resources and traditions,” concludes Domínguez.
